Material choices matter. In this case we where happy to discover that we had on hand - left over from previous work - just the right two materials for executing these simple trays. The bottoms are high-density polyethylene - stuff used for cutting boards and bait stations on fishing boats - and the sides are uni-directional maple plywood (by running all the grain in one direction you get a super smooth uniform edge. The Bot machined the hand hole with ease and some stainless steel square drive screws hold everything in place (the HDPE having little regard for glue.)
