After all these years I still like this basic design form. The first iteration was the plan file shown here in the first image. Later, while working for Bob Derecktor in Mamaroneck, I built the rolling tool chest which I use to this day (Bob thought it was pretty cool.)
There is no question that metal drawer slides are great. But, for something I'm going to live with for a long time give me wood rabets and a little wax. You waste less space and they are friendly and silent when working in a quiet house early on a Sunday morning.
